Anari Empowerment Foundation was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission on 26 June 2026. It exists to close the distance between young Nigerians and the skills, schooling, healthcare and market access that decide what they can earn.

Founding story

Why the Foundation exists

The Foundation started from a specific observation in Oworonshoki: young people with the aptitude to build software had no route into structured training, and the families around them were losing children from school over fees measured in tens of thousands of naira. The two problems are related. Both are solvable with money, structure and record keeping rather than with rhetoric.

The trustees chose incorporation before delivery on purpose. A registered body with a constitution, a financial year and a public record can be audited, funded and held to account. Programme design is under way; the first Digital Skills and AI cohort opens in 2026, and every session it runs will be recorded on the impact ledger with a date, a location and a verification source.

Governance

How the Foundation is run

The Board of Trustees is the governing body. It sets programme priorities, approves spending, and signs off the annual accounts for the year ending 31 December. Trustees serve unpaid. Decisions that involve a trustee’s own interest are declared and recorded under the conflict of interest policy before any vote.

Day-to-day delivery is carried out by programme leads and volunteers reporting to the Board. Attendance registers, assessment results and partner confirmations are kept for every activity and are the source of every number published on the impact ledger.
